The Shaw Auditorium Technical Team (SA Tech) is responsible for the technical and production support for performances and events held in the HKUST Shaw Auditorium (SA). The team ensures that all technical setups and systems are functioning optimally and assures all program productions are up to the HKUST standard.
Theater Technologies
The SA Tech team manages a state-of-the-art venue with a giant LED display, 4K projection, immersive soundscape, edge-blended cycloramic projection, and a high-performance computer system—delivering seamless, premium audiovisual experiences for events and performances.

MTPC regularly organizes programs at the Shaw Auditorium to promote performance and media art at HKUST. Through these events, MTPC also showcases cutting-edge theater technologies, expanding the boundaries of art-tech innovation.
Training Programs
Leveraging cutting-edge venues, advanced facilities, and technical expertise, MTPC—in collaboration with EMIA—presents the Technical Theater Art program (EMIA2220). This course provides students with the opportunity and experience to engage with theater and performance arts in HKUST.
